Does the Healing Buddha Heal? (2)

We want to argue:
If the name "bhaisajyaguru" is not significant in denoting the specific functionality of "healing," then what is significant? Probably, the significance lies in the fact that the Bhaisajyaguru Buddha is indeed besought by worshippers to be the one who cures their disease and bestow them longivity. The only thing not perfectly matching the modern sense of healing is that the notion of disease is much wider.
