gyur cig

  • Eng. Imperative verb: “May it be…! Let it be/become/arise/change/transform…!
  • 表示比較強烈願望的助動詞,相當於現代漢語的『但願』
  • 【譯例選擇】『令』『惟令』『願』『惟願』
  • 【參考例句】
    • dkog mchog gsum gyi bden pa dang… pa’i stobs kyis de bzhin du gyur cig
      = 以三寶之諦實… 之力如是成就!(十六尊者)
    • vjig rten bde legs chen pos khyab gyur cig = 世間廣大樂善充滿 (ibid)
    • bkra shis rgya mtshos phyogs kun khyab gyur cig = 吉祥大海令遍於諸方(那若簡略)

xxx shog

  • Eng. Particle indicating the optative.
  • 祈願句式/祈願語氣結尾詞。表達一種『讓xxx來吧/讓xxx發生吧/作xxx吧/』等語氣。
  • 這種句式最好是不直接把shog字翻譯出來。特別是盡量不用『願』或『祈願』等詞來翻譯shog句式,因為在玄奘譯例中『願』或『祈願』主要是用於對譯梵文praṇidhāna(藏文對譯smon lam)。另外,玄奘也把梵文pratijñā(藏文dam bcas pa)譯作『誓願』,而這裡的『誓願』是與該詞其他譯法如『所立』、『先許』或『宗』是同一意味。
  • shog的一個玄奘譯例是『來』,比如bkra bshis shog=吉祥來!

【按】注意『祈』的本義是『請』『請求』,所以單獨使用時一般沒有『願』的含義。但可以組成詞組『祈願』。不宜濫用『祈令』『惟祈』等。『祈』字發音為平聲。
